When writing the music for our previous album "Skyline," the intention was to try and capture the idyllic West Coast atmosphere through our musical lens. Bright, warm, effervescent.

We quickly realized that this selection of songs only captured half of the picture of this environment. It would be neglectful not to tell the story of the dark, bizarre, and pensive - the periods that you don't often associate with the word "inspirational," but end up being the most important for the creative process.

These songs are not only meant to typify that other end of the spectrum, but the duality that is ever-present in both. Order and chaos type stuff.

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
